Notes: The lead glaze of this pot was covered by a limestone encrustation, not to be mistaken with the often-seen silvery desquamation layers. The original conditions are seen in the last three pictures. Being limestone, the encrustation has been easily dissolved by means of diluted muriatic acid, revealing the very well-preserved surface of the lead glaze, only partially corroded in place by the silvery process of desquamation.
